I can't believe we only have two days of school left. I am really going to miss this group of kids, minus a few boys that are trying to drive me up the wall:) it has been a great year. I have met so many new friends at work and I am really enjoying it. It will be nice to have some time to relax and get my house and life back in order with The standish house being so busy lately. My two stresses at the moment are trying to find a costume to be daphne from scooby doo and one of the jonas brothers for a retro review on Wednesday. I truly do not know how I get myself into these things! It will be a lot of fun once it all comes together. I think Jeff will be able to be home this weekend which will be nice. We can cheer LSU on in the college world series. GEAUX TIGERS!!

Riley and I are having a lazy day, playing around the house today. He woke up yesterday with pink eye, so he was home for two days with me. He does not seem affected at all by it, except he wipes his eyes more often and said it's ok mom i just have some sand in my eyes but it's okay:) We have the last of our 4 year old birthday parties this weekend. We have a had a birthday party just about every weekend since the beginning of March. They have been fun , but I am ready to have a free weekend!

Way too busy

Well I see I have not posted anything in like 3 months. I am trying not to give my self too hard of a time. I knew I would not be the best at this, but I am going to try and do better. We have been crazy busy in the standish house. School is almost out for the summer so that will be nice for me:) Jeff on the other hand has been pulling several 12AM nights and traveling at least once a week for a couple months now, so he is pretty exhausted. He just texted me that his plane landed at 7 and he is going to come home instead of going back to the office. It will be like Christmas to have him home this early. Anyway at least we both still have jobs:) Everything has been going pretty well. I will be teaching 4th grade again next year, which I am happy about. I really enjoyed going  back to work this year. Riley is still loving school. We went strawberry picking last Sunday which was a lot of fun, only I did most of the picking while he did most of the eating:) I promise to do a better job updating with new posts!

It has been so long since I have been on. We have been way to busy. Last weekend we took Riley to the Wake Forest/ Clemson bball game and he had a ball but fell asleep before the end of the game. The crowd was a little crazy for him! Jeff has been really busy at work which is good in these times i guess. Riley's classmates have started their bday parties. We have at least 1 per weekend until May. The first was at old fire station, all the kids got to spray the big hose. He loved it! He also started soccer last weekend and had a blast. He wants to wear his cleats everywhere so of course we let him:) I will post some pics from the last couple of weeks, and I promise to do better about keeping up!

Well I am finally getting a chance to get back to blogging, but not because I finally found some extra minutes to add to my day. Riley woke up last night at about 1:30 AM throwing up and continued until about 6:30 this morning, so we are home taking it easy. He is feeling much better and is able to keep down some fluids. He is watching the second showing of land before time....the first showing was from 2-4 AM so this is a much better time for me :)

This week has flown by. I can't believe it will be Friday tomorrow. Last Saturday, for some unknown reason, our electricity was out for about 6 hours. We ended up going to our neighbors house with all the kids and having a "camp out". The kids had so much fun. Riley wanted to turn the electricity out on Sunday and have another "camp out". We had a great time, but boy do you realize how much we rely on electricity when you have none. It has been absolutely beautiful here for the past week. Sunday we all, including Marley, went hiking at the US national white water center. We had a great time. They have a rock wall that Riley had a blast climbing on and then we had a little lunch and called it a day. I am looking forward to another great weekend. I think it will be a little cooler and not quite as sunny but it should be nice for the Valentines weekend. We are going to hang out at home and cook steaks( my kind of family Valentines Day). I will post the pics from the "camp out" and hiking sometime tomorrow. Off to out evening routine... bath, books, bed:)

I can't believe we are having another snow day. It is kind of crazy here. We have to make up everyday that is missed. It's not like LA where they build in a week and if you don't take more than that you don't have to make them up. Oh well 1 more day taken away from the kids summer. I remember when summer was 3 months long. Now it is only about 2, and now another snow day. Anyway, Riley and I are going out to play in it before it melts!!

We had a great time at the park yesterday! We played basketball, football, and played on the playground. It was a beautiful day. High of 60 and sunny! Then we grilled kabobs and watched the super bowl. We were pulling for the cardinals but oh well. Back to work today so pretty uneventful. Riley had a great day. I think he must be ready to be a big brother because he keeps telling everyone his mommy is having a baby(which is not true). Our neighbors just had a baby so I think he thinks we should have one too. I told him maybe one day soon, but not today:)

Wow we finally did it! We have a blog. I can't believe it. In true Standish way, it only took Jeff and me two hours to come up with a name for the blog, and all we came up with was standish09, I know pretty lame. We have no problems making decisions. Hah!!! I have been looking at other blogs for a while and I am not sure if I can measure up but here goes.

We had a great Saturday. Riley of course started the day with a showing of The Incredibles. He is so into that movie right now. He actually has us calling him Dash, and Marley is Violet. Then we went to get his hair cut. Now those of you that have been with me to get his haircut know how awful it can be. I mean for a child a sweet as he is, he really can turn into a little devil. Anyway, it went fantastic. He was an angel so of course the suckers that we are, he got 2 swords and ate an ice cream sandwich for lunch for his GREAT behavior. Whatever works right? After that, a trip to Costco where Jeff almost immediately goes into a panic attack. Only an hour so not too bad.

When we got home we took Marley for a walk and Riley rode his new T Rex 4 wheeler. We tried the 5 MPH speed today and it was hilarious. He was wild on it! We all had to run to keep up with him. I am sure Marley was thinking there goes my leisurely walk. Jeff cooked steaks tonight and of course they were fantastic!

Tomorrow is Superbowl Sunday and it is supposed to be a beautiful day. I think will spend the whole day outside. As Riley would say, sleep, cartoon, eat, park. And that is probably how the day will go.
